The Edwards Auto 306 electron beam evaporator
The Edwards Auto 306 device is a microfilm application station, used to evaporate a material and then apply it in a thin layer to another surface. Several additional parts were added to adapt the machine to Optech’s needs. A multi-focus electron beam source was installed there in order to be able to evaporate materials with a higher melting point than the initial capacities of the machine. Thanks to this system, we can evaporate materials such as titanium, nickel, cobalt, oxides of semi-refractory metals, and oxides of rare piles of earth.
