The objective of this project was to design and simulate the optical performance of a stainless steel enclosure for poultry disinfection using the C-band ultraviolet radiation.
OPTECH’s role has been to support RP Innovation in the experimental development of UVC bacterial control equipment up to the functional prototype level. This is in order to make available to food processing companies a new disinfection alternative using very little water compared to current processes. RP Innovation supported OPTECH’s R&D efforts, notably by providing technical support for the design of the stainless steel equipment in open collaboration.
