Illumination
What is an illumination system?
It is an optical system that directs light rays to, for example, create a precise illumination pattern on a surface, generate a specific angular distribution, or control colors.
These systems are ubiquitous in daily life: from streetlights to simple light bulbs, to sophisticated lighting in shows and exhibitions, automotive headlights and interiors, and even the facial recognition systems in mobile devices. They also play a crucial role in imaging systems, such as industrial vision, by controlling and directing light beams to illuminate scenes.
How Optech can help you ?
The design of any illumination system requires a specific approach and the integration of various components, such as refractive and reflective lenses, or diffusing and guiding structures. Successful development relies not only on deep expertise but also on advanced tools. These include optical ray-tracing CAD software for modeling and design, high-performance computers for simulations, appropriate fabrication equipment for rapid prototyping, and measurement tools for characterization.
Optech has it all. Our team has over fifty years of combined experience in optical design, fabrication, and characterization. For their work, our design experts rely on state-of-the-art optical CAD software suites such as ANSYS SPEOS and Synopsys LightTools, supported by powerful computers. Our laboratories are equipped with a wide range of characterization tools, designed for components and systems of all sizes — from a few millimeters to over a meter. Our skilled technicians also have access to a broad selection of optical components, electronic equipment for power and thermal control, several 3D printers, and mechanical fabrication tools.
