About Optech

Leader in Optical-Photonics Innovation and Business Support

Visiter

Optech is a non-profit organization specializing in the experimental development of products and processus based on optics, photonics and quantum technologies.

We support companies across all sectors in their innovation journey by integrating optics and photonics technologies at every stage of development: from feasibility studies and design, to prototyping, testing and real-world validation, and even small-scale production.

Beyond our technical expertise, we also assist companies in identifying the most suitable tax programs and funding opportunities for their projects. Our commitment to training is equally strong: we actively contribute to workforce development by offering student internships and supporting the advancement of academic programs in physical engineering technology.

Since 2002, Optech has been the manager of the College Center for Technology Transfer (CCTT) in optics and photonics, a mandate entrusted by Cégep André-Laurendeau, Cégep de La Pocatière, and John Abbott College.

Our technological expertise is structured around five key areas: optical fibers, illumination and imaging, metrology, microsystems, and artificial intelligence in optics. This cross-disciplinary approach enables us to meet the diverse needs of innovative companies in sectors such as medical technologies, energy, industrial production, quantum technologies, and the environment.

Since 2002, Optech has supported more than 600 companies through 2,000 innovative projects, making a significant contribution to the growth of SMEs, the college community, and Québec’s economy. We are proud to foster synergies between businesses, our partners, and our multidisciplinary team of researchers and technicians, in order to energize the innovation ecosystem and strengthen society as a whole.
