Subject
Assessment of the expertise and technological complementarities of stakeholders in the photonics sector
This international cooperation project, linked to the recent 2018 World Government Summit report on the future of agricultural technologies, aimed to exchange on the mechanisms and potential avenues for the development of agrophotonics in Quebec and France, building on technological innovations from Industry 4.0. The development of digital tools integrating photonic innovation (lighting, sensors, lasers, 2D/3D imaging for machine vision, portable spectroscopy, fiber optic technology, etc.) was the main focus.
The objectives of the missions in France and visits to Quebec were to assess the expertise and technological complementarities of the stakeholders in the photonics sector and the project partners, to identify the needs of the agricultural and agri-food industries in both regions, to discuss support mechanisms for companies, and to explore the potential for collaborative industrial projects should synergies between the teams be confirmed.
