Optical design of a new generation of multifunctional presence detectors.

Proximity sensors or presence detectors used in industry are often composed of emitter-receiver systems operating with infrared light. These detectors suffer from limitations related to distance and ambient lighting. To address this issue, the objective of this project was to design the optics of a new generation of multifunctional presence detectors that would innovatively leverage existing techniques such as synchronous detection and polarized light.
