The objective of this project was to design and simulate the optical performance of a stainless-steel chamber for poultry disinfection using ultraviolet C-band radiation.

Optech’s role was to support RP Innovation in the experimental development of a bacterial control equipment using UVC, up to the stage of a functional prototype. The aim was to provide food processing companies with a new disinfection alternative that uses significantly less water compared to current processes. RP Innovation supported Optech’s R&D efforts by providing technical assistance in the design of the stainless-steel equipment, within a spirit of open collaboration.
